BREAKING NEWS: STAMP DUTY HOLIDAY TO BE EXTENDED TO THE 30TH JUNE 2021.

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has today announced the the Stamp Duty Holiday will be extended until the 30th June 2021.

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak has today announced the the Stamp Duty Holiday will be extended until the 30th June 2021.

This will allow the backlog of transactions that have caused so much concern for buyers and sellers alike, to now be able to go through in plenty of time and still not pay any Stamp Duty on their residential purchase, up to the value of £500,000.

On top of this, the chancellor has also announced a stepped transition back to the normal Stamp Duty levels. This will mean that from the 1st July there will be no Stamp Duty to pay from £250,000, until the end of September, then from the 1st October, it will drop back down to its previous figure of £125,000.

David Gibbs the director thinks this is a much needed and sensible measure that the chancellor has today taken, rather than the cliff edge cut off that was previously announced.

If you were thinking of buying or selling, but were holding back because of you not being able to afford to move and pay the Stamp Duty, please get in touch to register for properties, and if you are thinking of selling, please do so to arrange a Covid safe valuation.
