What? The Elves and the Shoemaker

Once upon a time… there was a shoemaker and his hardworking wife who, despite making the most elegant and comfortable shoes known, found that they could not earn enough to live on. About to give up, and with only enough leather left for one last pair, the kindly couple are visited by two mysterious and magical elves. Presented in a relaxed environment, with specially composed live music, and with puppets from around the world, our 40 minute version is the perfect festive treat for young families.s

The business district is glowing even brighter than usual thanks to the addition of sparkling installations and interactive experiences from international artists.
 
What? Farmers Market at Hall Place
Where? Hall Place & Gardens, Bourne Road, Bexley
When? Sunday 5th January 2020
On the first Sunday of every month, you can buy the best local produce at Hall Place. Meet the farmers and producers, try food samples and buy everything from home-grown fruit and vegetables, through to delicious cakes, breads and cheeses. Located outside the Visitor Centre.
 
What? Star Gazing
Where? Hall Place & Gardens, Bourne Road, Bexley
When? Tuesday 7th January 2020
Wrap up warm to spend an evening looking at the stars in the company of Crayford Manor House Astronomical Society Dartford. Includes mini-talks, a science experiment to wow you with and lots of fun packed opportunities to learn more about our solar system. Not forgetting the opportunity to use clever equipment to get dazzling views of the night sky/planets/moon/stars.
 
What? RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch
Where? Hall Place & Gardens, Bourne Road, Bexley
When? Saturday 25th January 2020
Come and help us identify some of the River Cray's birdlife. Drop-in bird watching day with Bexley RSPB at the bird hide. Everyone welcome, dress for the weather and meet at the bird hide! Perfect for a day of education for the little ones, but very interesting for adults too!
 
What? Hall Place through the Lens - Capturing the Colours of Winter
Where? Hall Place & Gardens, Bourne Road, Bexley
When? Sunday 26th January 2020
Join Pat Simmons, a member of the Royal Photographic Society, for an informal walk around our beautiful gardens. Just bring yourself and your camera/ phone camera to learn basic tips, composition techniques and advice on choosing your subject. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for all weathers.
 
What? Petite Pantos Presents ’Little Red Riding Hood’

When? Friday 10th January 2020 to Sunday 12th January 2020
Get ready to hiss, boo, cheer and laugh at Petite Pantos' modern spin on this traditional tale! Red Riding Hood is splitting her time between her three Grannies (all for the sake of a great joke in the second act) when she is pitted against the Big Bad Wolf (an ex politician with a dream to be in the Cats movie!) Will she save the day? Will her best friend Woody let her see his chopper? Will there be a rendition of Memory? There's only one way to find out! Bring the whole family for a laugh out loud panto with a heart of gold!
