What? Bach to Baby Family Concerts

Bach to Baby is the critically acclaimed classical concert series for babies, toddlers and their carers. Tots dance, roam about and revel in the wonder of live music, while you take a moment out of your busy day to hear top notch performances by outstanding musicians, with your young babes in tow. What? Stella
Where? Studio 3 Theatre, Boundary Rd, Barking

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet” - Stephen Hawking. Stella is a Star Engineer. From her home on the Moon she keeps the stars shining bright for when we need them most, to make a wish or find our way back home. But down on Earth things are changing. The world is becoming bright, busy and people aren't looking up. The stars are burning out and it's up to Stella to save them - but she can't do it alone. Using projection, playful performance and aerial circus, Filskit Theatre want to talk about our sky and how sometimes it is important to turn out the lights and wish upon a star.
 
What? Jazz in the Afternoon
Where? The Clarendon Hotel, 8-16 Montpelier Row, Blackheath
When? Sunday 17th November 2019
Live music and improvisation in the Chart Bar with the Jazznights Ensemble performing a mixture of swing, latin and easy-listening tunes. Free entry, bar snacks available (including a Sunday roast!) Guest performers welcome if you’re feeling brave. Come along, 4pm – 7pm.
 
What? The Friends of Age Exchange Blackheath Christmas Fair
Where? Blackheath Halls, 23 Lee Rd, Blackheath
When? Sunday 17th November 2019
Shop for a good cause! The much-loved Fair is back for its seventh year, bringing together specially selected crafters, artisans, and designers selling a wide range of handmade and bespoke gifts. Something for everyone, to suit all pockets. Proceeds in support of Age Exchange - helping people live well with dementia, reducing isolation and loneliness.
 
What? The Soldier
Where? Old Royal Naval College, King William Walk, Greenwich
When? Tuesday 19th November 2019
Inspired by revered WW1 poet Rupert Brooke, The Soldier by award-winning playwright Rachel Wagstaff, will captivate audiences in the magnificent Painted Hall. This moving production finds its perfect home at the Old Royal Naval College as it chronicles his time in the Royal Naval Division. This rich historical production is both a celebration of Brooke’s life and a powerful reminder of the strength of the war poets’ words ahead of the festive season.
 
What? Sip, Sip, Sip Away

For over 500 years the festive season has been an important part of the Greenwich maritime heritage site calendar and today is no different. On the very same grounds that Henry VIII celebrated Christmas, visitors to the Old Royal Naval College can celebrate the festivities with a feast of winter delights including carol concerts, wreath making masterclasses, Christmas shopping, the annual Greenwich Christmas Lights On and Lantern Parade and more.
 
What? INTO FILM FESTIVAL - The Hate U Give
Where? The O2, Greenwich
When? Friday 22nd November 2019
Based on the critically acclaimed young adult novel written in response to the Black Lives Matter movement. This is a powerful film that encourages self-expression and introduces young audiences to current topics on racism and oppression, and how they manifest in society in both stark and subtle ways.
